Spectators: 8047 (Terracing: 6036, Seating: 1851, VIP seats: 160) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Aden Fortington made the kick off which started today's match. After some fancy dribbling in the 2nd minute, Dakota Ritter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pilbara Palisades's supporters rose to their feet, but Dakota Ritter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dave Hislop breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dave Hislop took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thomas Christini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 4th minute, Boyce Ambrose hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aden Fortington in the 7th minute of play forced Pilbara Palisades's goalkeeper Hal Hursey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 13 minutes, Larry Ancell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pilbara Palisades and the Gunyah players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 13th minute, Larry Ancell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute, Aden Fortington ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hal Hursey was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Gunyah's Jarvis Inwood got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aden Fortington in the 27th minute of play forced Pilbara Palisades's goalkeeper Hal Hursey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dakota Ritter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Dave Hislop tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Gunyah's zone, Thomas Christini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dave Hislop came out of the goal and Thomas Christini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 33 played minutes Gunyah got a freekick which was hit by Bartholemew Unicomb. 38 minutes into the match, Gunyah's goal looked a bit too open when Dakota Ritter came free, but Dave Hislop reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Jarvis Inwood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jarvis Inwood fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hal Hursey having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Thomas Christini made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Aden Fortington cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Hal Hursey was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Jarvis Inwood's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hal Hursey was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Dakota Ritter struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Dave Hislop didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pilbara Palisades. After a rather tough play, Gunyah's Boyce Ambrose got a free kick in the 67th minute. Jarvis Inwood received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Hal Hursey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pilbara Palisades's Hal Hursey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aden Fortington in the 72nd minute of play. Jarvis Inwood hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Gunyah's Jarvis Inwood got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Boyce Ambrose kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Dakota Ritters short, quick shot in the 82ndth minute got Dave Hislop to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jarvis Inwood sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Pilbara Palisades getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Burt Kinnaird hit a great ball. Aden Fortington received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Hal Hursey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dani Block hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Gunyah's Drew Bowen couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 89th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Pilbara Palisades. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jarvis Inwood in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hal Hursey prevented the ball from getting in the gole. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Gunyah had played much better football throughout.
