Spectators: 7992 (Terracing: 5995, Seating: 1838, VIP seats: 159) 3 minutes into the match, Green Sheep's goalkeeper Donovan Batterham had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jarvis Inwood. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Green Sheep's goalkeeper Donovan Batterham, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Brannan Easther hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. After 9 minutes, Brannan Easther mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Green Sheep and the Gunyah players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Green Sheep's Brannan Easther got a free kick in the 9th minute. A hard shot 10 in the game by Jarvis Inwood from a close distance when the talented Donovan Batterham managed to make a qualified save. Green Sheep's players were relieved. Jarvis Inwood fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donovan Batterham having to interfere. Aden Fortington recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 17th minute, Aden Fortington got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kent Rheistein charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kent Rheistein the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Kent Rheistein hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Donovan Batterham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aden Fortington in the 37th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the game, Myles Cowdell was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gunyah's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Green Sheep the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Gunyah fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 38th minute. Penalty! Gunyah:s Dave Hislop showed great skill when he stopped Brook Paynter:s penalty. Brook Paynter took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dave Hislop. Dave Hislop dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 42 minutes, Boyce Ambrose mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gunyah and the Green Sheep players grew even worse after the yellow card. Green Sheep's Milton Hanslow got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aden Fortington to make the kick off. Bartholemew Unicomb kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Donovan Batterham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jarvis Inwood in the 58th minute of play. Aden Fortington scored 1-1 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Donovan Batterham, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 64 played minutes Green Sheep got a freekick which was hit by Murdock Zalunardo. 65 minutes into the game, Aden Fortington cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Donovan Batterham was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 68th match minute, Gunyah was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Boyce Ambrose to maneuver through the defense. After 77 minutes, Aden Fortington made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Green Sheep's Donovan Batterham tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Richard Mosley's late challenge caught a Green Sheep's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Richard Mosley helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Green Sheep booed when Gunyah was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richard Mosley didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dave Hislop acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 82nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Brook Paynter. Donovan Batterham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jarvis Inwood in the 85th minute of play. If Jarvis Inwood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute Aden Fortington shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donovan Batterham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
