Green Sheep's Donovan Batterham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allen Lucas in the 3rd minute of play. Duffield Quinn kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. When Ben Chute fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gurulmundi's protests and gave Ben Chute a yellow card for diving instead. In the 12th minute, Ben Chute hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Murdock Zalunardo's late challenge caught a Gurulmundi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Murdock Zalunardo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Gurulmundi booed when Green Sheep was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murdock Zalunardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Cain Weller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gurulmundi's Cain Weller got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 30th minute Allen Lucas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donovan Batterham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Donovan Batterham was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Donovan Batterham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Allen Lucas in the 39th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Allen Lucas made a kick off. In the 55th minute Allen Lucas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donovan Batterham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th minute, Cain Weller got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 62 minutes into the game, Allen Lucas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gurulmundi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Green Sheep the free kick. In the 62nd match minute, Gurulmundi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Allen Lucas to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Milton Hanslow's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Navarro Duggan was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. After 65 played minutes Green Sheep got a freekick which was hit by Carver Schultz. Kent Rheistein recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 73 played minutes Gurulmundi got a freekick which was hit by Rodney Loch. Milton Hanslow received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Navarro Duggan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cain Weller could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Donovan Batterham made a huge save. Arne Willding might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Donovan Batterham. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arne Willding ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Green Sheep's Stanley Brophy got a free kick in the 89th minute. Donovan Batterham made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Cain Weller sent off a good shot on target. If Allen Lucas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Gurulmundi players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
