After 3 minutes, Stephan Boots mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hop Skip Jump and the Convicts players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Hop Skip Jump's Stephan Boots got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Barnabas Hayman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Munroe Shipman having to make a save. Stephan Boots struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Elliott Baxter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hop Skip Jump. Munroe Shipman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duncan Stageman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Hop Skip Jump's Jayden Dowsing slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Elliott Baxter. That made the score 1-0 after 14 minutes of play. Duncan Stageman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Munroe Shipman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Hop Skip Jump's goal looked a bit too open when Duncan Stageman came free, but Munroe Shipman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Munroe Shipman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barnabas Hayman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the game, Luke Mcgaw was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hop Skip Jump's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Convicts the free kick. In the 28th match minute, Hop Skip Jump was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luke Mcgaw to maneuver through the defense. Munroe Shipman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Duncan Stageman, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Stephan Boots received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Elliott Baxter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 46 minutes, Elliott Baxter successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Duncan Stageman was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Convicts's goal looked a bit too open when Jayden Dowsing came free, but Elliott Baxter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 56 played minutes Convicts got a freekick which was hit by Cod Blackham. After a long run with the ball, Lawrance Will did a trick in the 58th minute in front of Convicts's goalkeeper, who threw himself to the side. After that it was simple to shoot 2-1. An impressive performance by Hop Skip Jump's Lawrance Will! Stephan Boots received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Elliott Baxter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stephan Boots struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Duncan Stageman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Munroe Shipman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. In the 74th minute Duncan Stageman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Munroe Shipman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jayden Dowsing had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hop Skip Jump's Luke Mcgaw got his second yellow card of the match in the 83rd minute. The referee ordered Luke Mcgaw off the ground. Luke Mcgaw hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. When Duncan Stageman came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Convicts fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Duncan Stageman couldn't finish the play. In the 88th minute, Duncan Stageman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Norman Waller during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 91 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Convicts! Elliott Baxter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stephan Boots in the 98th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Hop Skip Jump had won after a very even match.
