Welland's supporters rose to their feet, but Neale Bridson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lewis Alcock breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Battle Rheistein in the 9th minute of play forced Welland's goalkeeper Burt Rafferty to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Parker Miels hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After 11 played minutes, Bamarong's Darryl Mcvey shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Burt Rafferty came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bamarong reached it. Gregg Laughton was extremely unlucky when he, in the 16th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Jerrard Willis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Burt Rafferty tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Burt Rafferty took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Battle Rheistein, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jerrard Willis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 25 minutes into the match, Welland's goal looked a bit too open when Battle Rheistein came free, but Burt Rafferty reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jerrard Willis struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Burt Rafferty didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bamarong. Ray Fessey kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. If Battle Rheistein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stanley Rishton's late challenge caught a Welland's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stanley Rishton helped the player get up and apologised. In the 46th match minute, Bamarong was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stanley Rishton to maneuver through the defense. 49 minutes had been played when some careless play by Bamarong's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Navarro Norman was slow to take the kick. During this time Welland's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Welland's corner Navarro Norman fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lewis Alcock quite easily take care of the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gregg Laughton made a kick off. Welland's Burt Rafferty proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Welland from getting a goal against them. When Bamarong's Battle Rheistein in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Welland's goalie prevented a goal. Lewis Alcock stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Neale Bridson's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. 64 minutes into the game, Hal Lord was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bamarong's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Welland the free kick. Hal Lord hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Lewis Alcock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gregg Laughton in the 65th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Jerrard Willis managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 96th minute, Ray Fessey left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Welland fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0.
