Bath Colman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Larry Playford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Brennan charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Daniel Brennan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 26th match minute, Stanley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Brennan to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Navin Kenack sped through Stanley's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Richard Durbin. Bud Mcjenkins blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Richard Durbin having to make a save. With his leg Larry Playford managed to avoid a goal in the 36thth minute, when Stanley's Brooks Cawthorne fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Navin Kenack might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Richard Durbin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Navin Kenack ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Stanley's zone, Navin Kenack stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Richard Durbin came out of the goal and Navin Kenack tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Anthony Didlick fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stanley's protests and gave Anthony Didlick a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Stanley's Anthony Didlick got a free kick in the 45th minute. Richard Durbin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bud Mcjenkins in the 47th minute of the match. After the first half Halifax were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bath Colman to make the kick off. Halifax's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stanley the free kick. In the 68th match minute, Halifax was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eddy Bielski to maneuver through the defense. In the 74th match minute, Stanley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anthony Didlick to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Navin Kenack got free with Richard Durbin in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edison Beins charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 80th minute, Edison Beins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brooks Cawthorne hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After 82 played minutes Stanley got a freekick which was hit by Brooks Cawthorne. Navin Kenack sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Halifax's Larry Playford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brooks Cawthorne in the 89th minute of play. Halifax's Navin Kenack got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
