Spectators: 7960 (Terracing: 5971, Seating: 1831, VIP seats: 158) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Arne Prinsep kicked off to start the match. Andres Clarke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeffers Rowden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeffers Rowden did an outstanding performance 10 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 0-1 to the right of an irritated Andres Clarke in the goal. Andres Clarke came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Poneke's Arne Prinsep. But to his dismay, Arne Prinsep quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 41 minutes into the game, Bill Lander recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Payne Hinder. Bill Lander showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lorimer Duggan to make the kick off. Bill Lander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Munroe Fortington's late challenge caught a Poneke's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Munroe Fortington helped the player get up and apologised. Munroe Fortington hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Bill Lander might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Payne Hinder. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bill Lander ran back to his position shaking his head.
