Welland's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jamese Aliendi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. When Ray Allen fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Apunyal's protests and gave Ray Allen a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Apunyal getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Ray Allen hit a great ball. The supporters of Apunyal booed when Welland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brooker Christina didn't get a good kick on the ball. Burt Rafferty showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jamese Aliendi in the 30th minute of the match. Welland's Burt Rafferty played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neville Kile in the 34th minute of play. Neville Kile fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Burt Rafferty having to interfere. In the 46th minute Ray Fessey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tobie Missen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Neville Kile was the one to do the kick off. Jamese Aliendis short, quick shot in the 51stth minute got Burt Rafferty to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Burt Rafferty showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neville Kile, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Jamese Aliendi struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Burt Rafferty didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Apunyal. With an all-out effort, Apunyal's Burt Rafferty threw himself towards the right post 55 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Neville Kile, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Pierre Starling fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tobie Missen having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Apunyal's Jarrod Glover got a free kick in the 58th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pierre Starling in the 63rd minute of play forced Apunyal's goalkeeper Tobie Missen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Welland's Ray Fessey suffered a sore thigh after 69 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Pearce Devine fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Apunyal's protests and gave Pearce Devine a yellow card for diving instead. 71 minutes into the match, Navarro Norman notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Apunyal's Tobie Missen. Tobie Missen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Burt Rafferty made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jamese Aliendi in the 75th minute.
