Spectators: 8001 (Terracing: 6000, Seating: 1842, VIP seats: 159) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Justin Mcvey started the match with the kick off. Jemmett Babbage hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Justin Mcvey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Justin Mcvey in the 21st minute of play forced Halifax's goalkeeper Larry Playford to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Meruthera's Justin Mcvey got a free kick in the 27th minute. Navin Kenack sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Evan Cridland recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 33 played minutes Halifax got a freekick which was hit by Brock Weller. Larry Coleman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Bernie Surman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 48 minutes into the match, Meruthera's Evan Cridland sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Larry Playford narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

In the 55th minute, Justin Mcvey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 57th minute, Stephan Winkless hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Halifax's Larry Coleman got a free kick in the 59th minute. Bud Mcjenkins recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Justin Mcvey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Larry Playford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Halifax getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Edmonds White hit a great ball. With a little luck, Halifax's Larry Playford got control of the ball when Evan Cridland tried to sneak it across the goal line.
