Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Neville Kile started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Jamese Aliendi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Evan Cridland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Tobie Missen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Apunyal getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Boyce Willding hit a great ball. 12 minutes into the match, Apunyal's goal looked a bit too open when Justin Mcvey came free, but Tobie Missen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute of the match Dagan Giles sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tobie Missen skillfully saved the ball. Tobie Missen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evan Cridland in the 20th minute of play. After having played for 22 minutes, Neville Kile managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Apunyal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Neville Kile was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tobie Missen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jemmett Babbage in the 28th minute of the match. Meruthera's Bernie Surman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neville Kile in the 29th minute of play. Bernie Surman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jamese Aliendi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Apunyal's Jamese Aliendi got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 40 minutes into the match, Apunyal's goal looked a bit too open when Evan Cridland came free, but Tobie Missen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Meruthera defense, Jamese Aliendi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernie Surman. The Meruthera fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernie Surman should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Justin Mcvey was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jamese Aliendi in the 63rd minute of play forced Meruthera's goalkeeper Bernie Surman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Davey Guy charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Davey Guy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 67th minute, Jamese Aliendi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Apunyal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 72nd minute, Jemmett Babbage hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jamese Aliendi in the 76th minute of play forced Meruthera's goalkeeper Bernie Surman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Neville Kile managed to get in a good position for a shot. Apunyal's supporters rose to their feet, but Neville Kile was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernie Surman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Neville Kile blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bernie Surman having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Meruthera's zone, Jamese Aliendi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernie Surman came out of the goal and Jamese Aliendi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Apunyal booed when Meruthera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davey Guy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Apunyal were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Meruthera for a fine match.
