In the 14th minute, Benjamin Odonahoo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Payne Hinder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reese Holdsworth in the 16th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Poneke's goalkeeper Payne Hinder had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Quincy Harding. After 21 minutes, Allen Bouer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Poneke and the Brookong players grew even worse after the yellow card. Poneke's Payne Hinder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamin Odonahoo in the 27th minute of play. 28 minutes into the game, Quincy Harding cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Payne Hinder was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Bryant Edwards's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bran Devere was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. The wind increased when Reese Holdsworth made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 54 minutes, Bryant Edwards managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Poneke's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bryant Edwards was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 65th match minute, Poneke was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darian Annis to maneuver through the defense. Payne Hinder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Guy in the 66th minute of play. Myles Butterfield's late challenge caught a Poneke's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. A collision led to Brookong getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Edison Lingwoodock hit a great ball. Benjamin Odonahoo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Payne Hinder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Corey Tout hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Christian Guy, 77 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Benjamin Odonahoo scored 2-0 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Payne Hinder, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 83 minutes into the match, Poneke's goal looked a bit too open when Quincy Harding came free, but Payne Hinder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 84 played minutes Poneke got a freekick which was hit by Peter Reiter. After 88 played minutes, Brookong's Myles Butterfield shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Payne Hinder came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. In the 89th minute, Poneke's Bryant Edwards ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bran Devere. Bran Devere yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. If Allen Bouer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Poneke players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Brookong.
