Edison Macumber breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Edison Macumber came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Melbourne 1980's Richard Hinwood. But to his dismay, Richard Hinwood quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. 63 minutes into the match, Woodhouselee's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Hinwood came free, but Edison Macumber reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Richard Hinwood's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edison Macumber was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. After 74 minutes of play Melbourne 1980's Jarvis Quigley was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 75th minute, Jarvis Quigley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Christian Tout showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Richard Hinwood received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Edison Macumber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Richard Hinwood fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edison Macumber having to interfere.
