Chuck Howard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Bradley Fazey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Odysseia's Chuck Howard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bradley Fazey in the 14th minute of play. With a little luck, Cheviot's Davey Deal got control of the ball when Arnold Didlick tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cheviot! Chuck Howard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Larry Kreck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Cheviot booed when Odysseia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kenneth Fison didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chuck Howard came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Cheviot's Larry Kreck. But to his dismay, Larry Kreck quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When Damian Weatherby fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Odysseia's protests and gave Damian Weatherby a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Odysseia fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 33rd minute. Penalty! In the 35th minute there was a penalty for Cheviot. Bradley Fazey stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Chuck Howard. 0-2. In the 40th minute, Kenneth Fison reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Davey Deal. The goal made the score 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Larry Kreck to strike the kick off in the second half. Arnold Didlick struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Davey Deal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Odysseia. After a defensive mix-up in Odysseia's zone, Larry Kreck stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chuck Howard came out of the goal and Larry Kreck tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jervis Cowdell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chuck Howard having to interfere. After having played for 64 minutes, Larry Kreck managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cheviot's supporters crossed their fingers, but Larry Kreck was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Caine Merz took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Davey Deal. Davey Deal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. When Kenneth Fison came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Odysseia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kenneth Fison couldn't finish the play. If Larry Kreck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Larry Kreck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 86th minute, Odysseia's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Bradford Sawbridge fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Cheviot's Larry Kreck got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Chuck Howard was out of position in the 89 minute of play, and Jervis Cowdell capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jervis Cowdell really showed his touch with that goal: 3-3. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Cheviot players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
