When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Bennett Osbiston took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Max Unicomb to make any attempt to save it. In the 19th minute of the match Bent Paull sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arthur Aliendi skillfully saved the ball. Abraham Schulze fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arthur Aliendi having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Arnold Millgate had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arthur Aliendi. Bankstown FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arnold Millgate was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. 25 minutes into the match, Bankstown FC's goal looked a bit too open when Abraham Schulze came free, but Arthur Aliendi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Crawford Harkness's late challenge caught a Cancun's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Crawford Harkness helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Bankstown FC's Crawford Harkness got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 31st minute, Abraham Schulze got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Abraham Schulze's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arthur Aliendi was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. After 33 played minutes Bankstown FC got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Sinden. In the 36th minute, Bent Paull hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Evan Barry in the 37th minute really tested Max Unicomb's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 41st minute, Bennett Osbiston got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bennett Osbiston recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Bankstown FC defense, Birrell Rishton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arthur Aliendi. The Bankstown FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arthur Aliendi should have stopped the shot. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bennett Osbiston to make the kick off. Abraham Schulze struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. The Cancun players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
