John Weller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 10 minutes into the game, John Weller cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Jason Moon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jess Kinnaird got a fine position in front of goal ttaking advantage of the opportunity to rumble in 2-1 in the right cross in the 13th match minute before Al Fieldhouse had time to react. If Elliott Turnbull had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute, Latrobe's Elliott Turnbull dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. Jason Moon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Weller, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Walgett's Al Fieldhouse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elliott Turnbull in the 34th minute of play. Al Fieldhouse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elliott Turnbull, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute John Weller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jason Moon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 44 in the game by Jess Kinnaird from a close distance when the talented Al Fieldhouse managed to make a qualified save. Walgett's players were relieved. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Al Fieldhouse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jess Kinnaird in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rdth minute of the game Jess Kinnaird who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Walgett's Al Fieldhouse was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Al Fieldhouse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elliott Turnbull in the 59th minute of the match. Lucas Bailey could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Jason Moon made a huge save. When Latrobe's Jess Kinnaird in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Walgett's goalie prevented a goal. If Elliott Turnbull had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elliott Turnbull in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Al Fieldhouse prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 82 minutes into the match, Walgett's goal looked a bit too open when Elliott Turnbull came free, but Al Fieldhouse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
