Thanks to some nice moves Barney Kennewell could shoot a difficult shot in the 7th minute, which Dino Zoff however easily saved by the left post. Grandchester FC's Dino Zoff proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Grandchester FC from getting a goal against them. Berke Sugden scored 1-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Burt Houldsworth, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Esk's Kane Freeman got a free kick in the 15th minute. After 16 played minutes Grandchester FC got a freekick which was hit by Jamese Phillips. Berke Sugden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Burt Houldsworth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Burt Houldsworth stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Berke Sugden's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Barney Kennewell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 40 minutes into the game, Berke Sugden cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Burt Houldsworth was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dino Zoff made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Barney Kennewell sent off a good shot on target. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Berke Sugden to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee felt a red card was in order, 61 minutes into the game, when Rusty Brandie put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 60th minute of the game. One of Esk:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Grandchester FC:s goal. Berke Sugden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Burt Houldsworth having to interfere. Bennett Egel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 80 minutes into the match, Esk's goal looked a bit too open when Bradley Goodbun came free, but Burt Houldsworth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 85 played minutes Esk got a freekick which was hit by Dale Hardiman. Grandchester FC's Dino Zoff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barney Kennewell in the 92nd minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Grandchester FC's goal looked a bit too open when Barney Kennewell came free, but Dino Zoff reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Grandchester FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
