The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Burns Deal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dakota Rhodes's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. In the 7th minute Dakota Rhodes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Burns Deal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 8 played minutes Hawthorn FC got a freekick which was hit by Kent Balaam. Dakota Rhodes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Burns Deal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13thth minute of the game Dakota Rhodes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hawthorn FC's Burns Deal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. James Thiele received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Burns Deal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Burns Deal was a little too slow when Dakota Rhodes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 17th minute. The score was now 1-0. After 19 played minutes Hawthorn FC got a freekick which was hit by Luck Day. In the 26th minute, Jess Andrews hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Allen Copelin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Payne Roach struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Kale Johnson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hawthorn FC. Dakota Rhodes struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Burns Deal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC FC. In the 38th minute, Allen Copelin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dakota Rhodes might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Burns Deal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dakota Rhodes ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Hawthorn FC's goalkeeper Burns Deal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kale Johnson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Payne Roach, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dakota Rhodes made a kick off. Burns Deal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dakota Rhodes's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. Dakota Rhodes struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dakota Rhodes couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Hawthorn FC's zone, James Thiele stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Burns Deal came out of the goal and James Thiele tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dakota Rhodes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Burns Deal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dakota Rhodes's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. The supporters of Hawthorn FC booed when FC FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Allen Copelin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Hawthorn FC's Payne Roach in the 86th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Kale Johnson was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for FC FC through an amazing save. In the 88th match minute, Hawthorn FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damian Clubley to maneuver through the defense. Burns Deal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Allen Copelin in the 89th minute of the match. In the 91st minute, Dakota Rhodes made a precise shot to the right of Burns Deal. Hawthorn FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. When Bartholemew Alchin fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC FC's protests and gave Bartholemew Alchin a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FC FC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Bartholemew Alchin hit a great ball. Nichol Millgate struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Kale Johnson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hawthorn FC. FC FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
