An unexpectedly hard shot by Gavril Mironov in the 5th minute of play forced Murmungee's goalkeeper Rex Fieldhouse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th match minute, Penaldo Pessi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Drake Cudmore to maneuver through the defense. 温云志 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Rex Fieldhouse tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rex Fieldhouse stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rodd Pearman's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rodd Pearman in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rex Fieldhouse saved Murmungee from getting behind. Norman Beattie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humphry Oshea, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. After a rather tough play, Penaldo Pessi FC's Jackson Goodbun got a free kick in the 21st minute. After 26 played minutes Murmungee got a freekick which was hit by Douglas Schultz. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rodd Pearman in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rex Fieldhouse prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Corbett Wenham let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 31st minute shot 1-0 at rihgt post. Barnett Baxter's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Norman Beattie read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Rex Fieldhouse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodd Pearman in the 43rd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Rodd Pearman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rex Fieldhouse was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. When Humphry Oshea came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Murmungee fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Humphry Oshea couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Barnett Baxter to make the kick off. In the 60th minute Drake Cudmore collided with an opponent which caused him a fractured collar bone. After 60 minutes, Buck Schonke mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Murmungee and the Penaldo Pessi FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Penaldo Pessi FC made a substitution. Brookes Lewry replaced Drake Cudmore. Buck Schonke hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Gavril Mironov's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 63rdth minute, Rex Fieldhouse skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Penaldo Pessi FC's Rodd Pearman in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 80 played minutes Penaldo Pessi FC got a freekick which was hit by Navin Staworowski. Corbett Wenham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
