Spectators: 7958 (Terracing: 5970, Seating: 1830, VIP seats: 158) Sydney Eagles's Jonty Mcinnes got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tugun Jets FC's Darryl Phillips played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonty Mcinnes in the 11th minute of play. In the 13th minute Jonty Mcinnes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darryl Phillips saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Burns Claringbold's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 15thth minute, Mark Butterfield skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Rory William was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 24th minute. Tugun Jets FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Burns Claringbold could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Mark Butterfield made a huge save. Tugun Jets FC's Rory William got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Corey Mudie hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sydney Eagles's goalkeeper Mark Butterfield, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rory William recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Rory William had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Sydney Eagles were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Bennett Huntington hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Rory William struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Mark Butterfield didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tugun Jets FC. The supporters of Tugun Jets FC booed when Sydney Eagles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michael Pearse didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rory William received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Mark Butterfield tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Sydney Eagles's zone, Jacobs Paddle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mark Butterfield came out of the goal and Jacobs Paddle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Rory William came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Tugun Jets FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rory William couldn't finish the play. Burns Claringbold received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Mark Butterfield tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Tugun Jets FC booed when Sydney Eagles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Navarro Plank didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tugun Jets FC were awarded a corner in the 67th minute after Sydney Eagles's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Remington Heath took the corner. Belton Coleman was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 70th minute, Burns Claringbold got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 71 minutes, Jacobs Paddle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tugun Jets FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacobs Paddle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 74 minutes into the match, Sydney Eagles's goal looked a bit too open when Jacobs Paddle came free, but Mark Butterfield reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mark Butterfield showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Burns Claringbold, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. When Tugun Jets FC's Jacobs Paddle in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sydney Eagles's goalie prevented a goal. In the 79th minute, Bernie Staworowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mark Butterfield made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Belton Coleman in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th match minute, Sydney Eagles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonty Mcinnes to maneuver through the defense. Jacobs Paddle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mark Butterfield having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Belton Coleman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 90th minute Burns Claringbold shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mark Butterfield saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Jonty Mcinnes could shoot a difficult shot in the 91st minute, which Darryl Phillips however easily saved by the left post. After a rather tough play, Tugun Jets FC's Belton Coleman got a free kick in the 94th minute.
