Abbott Babbage scored 0-2 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lance Playford, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Henrietta's Blade Freeman got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute of the match Olin Mckinnes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lance Playford showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Lance Playford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bradford Mckay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alexander Starling sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th minute Alexander Starling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arne Collins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexander Starling fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arne Collins having to interfere. With a little luck, Kogarah Reds's Arne Collins got control of the ball when Cliff Gavin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Henrietta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexander Starling was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Henrietta's Lance Playford got control of the ball when Bradford Mckay tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Henrietta getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Boris Mcgaw hit a great ball. Phenix Fitzsimmons kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After 83 played minutes Henrietta got a freekick which was hit by Rudolph Oconnell. Bradford Mckay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 87 minutes into the match, Kogarah Reds's Abbott Babbage sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lance Playford narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Abbott Babbage had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, Kogarah Reds's Lance Playford threw himself towards the right post 98 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Abbott Babbage, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Kogarah Reds walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
