Alex Murphy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 7 minutes into the game, Brent Saisell was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Australia Fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Catanzaro FC the free kick. After 8 played minutes Australia Fc got a freekick which was hit by Brent Saisell. Handley Christini succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 10th playminute. After 13 minutes of play, Australia Fc's Alex Murphy made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andres Dobson was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Belton Laing in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dugald Limmer saved Australia Fc from getting behind. Australia Fc's Dugald Limmer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Australia Fc from getting a goal against them. When Handley Christini came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Catanzaro FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Handley Christini couldn't finish the play. Belton Laing might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dugald Limmer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Belton Laing ran back to his position shaking his head. When Handley Christini came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Catanzaro FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Handley Christini couldn't finish the play. Belton Laing who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Dugald Limmer when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 34th minute, Australia Fc's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Handley Christini fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The audience was convinced that Belton Laing's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dugald Limmer was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. If Belton Laing had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 40th minute by Handley Christini got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alex Murphy to strike the kick off in the second half. Alex Murphy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dugald Limmer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Handley Christini in the 55th minute of play. In the 56th match minute, Australia Fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dani Oconnell to maneuver through the defense. Dani Oconnell hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Dugald Limmer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Handley Christini went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Australia Fc's zone, Belton Laing stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dugald Limmer came out of the goal and Belton Laing tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 71stth minute of the game Belton Laing who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Australia Fc's Dugald Limmer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cliff Crawford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Belton Laing received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Dugald Limmer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Australia Fc's Marcus Brien got a free kick in the 77th minute. In the 78th minute, Belton Laing made a precise shot to the right of Dugald Limmer. Australia Fc's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Belton Laing might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dugald Limmer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Belton Laing ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Belton Laing in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dugald Limmer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. There was no doubt that Catanzaro FC were the better team. Catanzaro FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
