Spectators: 7858 (Terracing: 6000, Seating: 1858, VIP seats: 0) Cain Quinnell started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Ian Willis took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Baxter Kuskoff. Baxter Kuskoff dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 12 minutes into the game, Earl Limmer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lucyvale's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wauraltee the free kick. In the 15thth minute of the game Phil Pickhills who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lucyvale's Baxter Kuskoff was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 15 minutes, Gregory Locke mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lucyvale and the Wauraltee players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ian Willis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Baxter Kuskoff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 19 played minutes Lucyvale got a freekick which was hit by Gregory Locke. 20 minutes into the game, Wauraltee's Phil Pickhills nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Baxter Kuskoff made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. 24 minutes into the game, Marshall Missen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wauraltee's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lucyvale the free kick. The supporters of Lucyvale booed when Wauraltee was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marshall Missen didn't get a good kick on the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Lucyvale's goal looked a bit too open when Phil Pickhills came free, but Baxter Kuskoff reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Wauraltee booed when Lucyvale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tom Barclay didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Wauraltee's Phil Pickhills in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lucyvale's goalie prevented a goal. In the 38th minute, Wauraltee's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cain Quinnell fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Boyd Rutledge's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carleton Byrnes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Boyd Rutledge who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 47thth minute tested the skills of Carleton Byrnes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Phil Pickhills made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Cain Quinnell left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lucyvale fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Boyd Rutledge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carleton Byrnes having to interfere. Phil Pickhills scored 1-3 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Baxter Kuskoff, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Lucyvale's Baxter Kuskoff got control of the ball when Ian Willis tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 64th minute, Phil Pickhills got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ian Willis might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Baxter Kuskoff. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ian Willis ran back to his position shaking his head. Carleton Byrnes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boyd Rutledge, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. The supporters of Lucyvale booed when Wauraltee was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eden Nurthen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cain Quinnell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Carleton Byrnes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Boyd Rutledge came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Lucyvale fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Boyd Rutledge couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Wauraltee getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Carson Osbiston hit a great ball. In the 92nd minute, Antonia Hodson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lucyvale's goalkeeper Baxter Kuskoff, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Wauraltee's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
