Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Billy Meyers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 5th match minute, Wellard was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stewart Curtis to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Justin Mills in the 10th minute of play forced Lawnswood's goalkeeper Billy Meyers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10th minute, Justin Mills left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Wellard fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 14 minutes into the match, Stewart Curtis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Billy Meyers. Lawnswood's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stewart Curtis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. When Stewart Curtis came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Wellard fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stewart Curtis couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Justin Mills in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Billy Meyers saved Lawnswood from getting behind. After having played for 37 minutes, Stewart Curtis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wellard's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stewart Curtis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Stewart Curtis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Wellard's zone, Barnes Eicke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bran Spurr came out of the goal and Barnes Eicke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Justin Mills made a kick off. Stewart Curtis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Billy Meyers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Justin Mills's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Billy Meyers was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Lawnswood's Remington Anders got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Billy Meyers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Justin Mills in the 74th minute of play.
