After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Stewart Curtis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wellard's supporters rose to their feet, but Stewart Curtis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tom Grieve breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee felt a red card was in order, 27 minutes into the game, when Lorimer Nunn put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Perth Glory fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 26th minute. Penalty! Fletcher Hart placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! When Randall Alchin fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Perth Glory's protests and gave Randall Alchin a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Perth Glory getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Randall Alchin hit a great ball. In the 34thth minute of the game Stewart Curtis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Perth Glory's Tom Grieve was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 35thth minute of the game Justin Mills who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Perth Glory's Tom Grieve was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Justin Mills sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tom Grieve stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stewart Curtis's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. 43 minutes into the match, Perth Glory's goal looked a bit too open when Stewart Curtis came free, but Tom Grieve reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Justin Mills fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tom Grieve having to interfere. Tom Grieve came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Wellard's Stewart Curtis. But to his dismay, Stewart Curtis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Keith Magrath made the kick off in the second half. If Justin Mills had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Stewart Curtis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 56thth minute, Tom Grieve skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Tom Grieve stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Justin Mills's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Perth Glory's goalkeeper Tom Grieve, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 63 minutes, Justin Mills made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Perth Glory's Tom Grieve tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Wellard's Stewart Curtis got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Justin Mills put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Tom Grieve. The crowd rose to their feet as Wellard's Justin Mills slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tom Grieve. That made the score 0-5 after 75 minutes of play. When Wellard's Justin Mills in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Perth Glory's goalie prevented a goal. In the 84th minute Keith Magrath shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bran Spurr saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Perth Glory booed when Wellard was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fleming Mapps didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Justin Mills in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tom Grieve prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the final whistle sounded Wellard left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Perth Glory.
