Spectators: 7030 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 30) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Carlton Rhoades kicked off to start the match. In the 6th minute Berke Atkin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cullen Playford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 7 minutes into the match, Pet Circke's goal looked a bit too open when Rusty Ridding came free, but Cullen Playford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Berke Atkin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Blake Arkinstall kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. When Berke Atkin came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Backyard Football fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Berke Atkin couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Backyard Football booed when Pet Circke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Quincy Pears didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cullen Playford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Berke Atkin, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Cullen Playford didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Berke Atkin went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Kale Addison breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Backyard Football's Kale Addison played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlton Rhoades in the 48th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Berke Atkin to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Pet Circke's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Crawford Mackney was slow to take the kick. During this time Backyard Football's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Crawford Mackney got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Cullen Playford quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Cullen Playford acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 59th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Brooks Hollingworth. Jagger Fynn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kale Addison having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, one of Backyard Football:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Backyard Football. In the 64th minute there was a penalty for Pet Circke. Ike Kayrooz stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Kale Addison. 1-2. In the 68th minute of the match, Berke Atkin tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Cullen Playford saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Rusty Ridding took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cullen Playford. Cullen Playford dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. A collision led to Pet Circke getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Remy Coleman hit a great ball. Rusty Ridding received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Cullen Playford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Berke Atkin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Backyard Football's supporters rose to their feet, but Berke Atkin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pet Circke's goalkeeper Cullen Playford, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 99th minute Berke Atkin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cullen Playford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Backyard Football walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
