After having played for 17 minutes, Fleming Willis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lawnswood's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fleming Willis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Billy Meyers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rusty Ridding in the 21st minute of the match. Billy Meyers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fleming Willis to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Barnes Eicke in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kale Addison saved Backyard Football from getting behind. Fleming Willis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kale Addison having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Backyard Football's Ed Garing got a free kick in the 57th minute. Fleming Willis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Kale Addison tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Lawnswood getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Christopher Barker hit a great ball. Berke Atkin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Backyard Football's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
