Spectators: 6842 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1842, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Benny Veitch started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Fleming Mapps had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Duncan Alcock. Ootha's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fleming Mapps was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Ootha's Duncan Alcock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justin Mills in the 10th minute of play. Stewart Curtis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duncan Alcock having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Wellard's Justin Mills sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Duncan Alcock narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 19th minute Justin Mills shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duncan Alcock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bran Spurr made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benny Veitch in the 20th minute of play. Justin Mills received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Duncan Alcock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wellard's Stewart Curtis got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Wellard booed when Ootha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bryson Howard didn't get a good kick on the ball. Duncan Alcock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Justin Mills in the 29th minute of the match. Justin Mills sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 32 minutes, Barnabas Willding mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ootha and the Wellard players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ootha's Barnabas Willding got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Duncan Alcock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Justin Mills, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute, Justin Mills got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stewart Curtis in the 39th minute of play forced Ootha's goalkeeper Duncan Alcock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Justin Mills's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Duncan Alcock read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. After having played for 43 minutes, Benny Veitch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ootha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benny Veitch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ootha's Duncan Alcock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stewart Curtis in the 46th minute of play. A collision led to Ootha getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Murphey Christini hit a great ball.

After 57 minutes, Paz Howard mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ootha and the Wellard players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 57th match minute, Ootha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paz Howard to maneuver through the defense. Fletcher Hart took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Duncan Alcock. Ootha's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Justin Mills came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Wellard fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Justin Mills couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice moves Stewart Curtis could shoot a difficult shot in the 71st minute, which Duncan Alcock however easily saved by the left post. Duncan Alcock stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Justin Mills's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Ootha's Duncan Alcock proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Ootha from getting a goal against them. An unexpected shot in the 80th minute by Fleming Mapps got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. John Leyden blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bran Spurr having to make a save. Fleming Mapps kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Benny Veitch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Bran Spurr tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fletcher Hart was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 90th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal.
