Cullen Playford made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Keith Magrath in the 5th minute of play. Quincy Pears hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Antony Lowes kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Cullen Playford showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Keith Magrath in the 11th minute of the match. Tom Grieve stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carlton Rhoades's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. After having played for 25 minutes, Keith Magrath managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Perth Glory's supporters crossed their fingers, but Keith Magrath was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Keith Magrath had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the match, Perth Glory's Keith Magrath sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cullen Playford narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Pet Circke's zone, Rodd Powell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cullen Playford came out of the goal and Rodd Powell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 32nd minute Rodd Powell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cullen Playford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Keith Magrath sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Jagger Fynn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jagger Fynn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tom Grieve having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlton Rhoades to make the kick off. In the 54thth minute of the game Carlton Rhoades who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Perth Glory's Tom Grieve was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Rodd Powell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Perth Glory's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodd Powell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cullen Playford breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cullen Playford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodd Powell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jagger Fynn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tom Grieve having to interfere. In the 72nd minute Jagger Fynn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tom Grieve saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antony Lowes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Cullen Playford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Jagger Fynn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pet Circke's supporters rose to their feet, but Jagger Fynn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tom Grieve breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cullen Playford didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Keith Magrath went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Perth Glory players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
