Jake Smoothy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Arnie Alcock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 8 minutes into the game, Dagan Lucas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Arnie Alcock was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clark Blestowe got free with Russ Ross in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edwin Lander hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Arnie Alcock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jake Smoothy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edwin Lander's late challenge caught a Perilya's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edwin Lander helped the player get up and apologised. Edwin Lander hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. During the 33rd minute of the match Edwin Lander completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Edwin Lander a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Bundaberg RUMblers getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Edwin Lander hit a great ball. 35 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Perilya's Clark Blestowe fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Bundaberg RUMblers's Russ Ross played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Best James in the 37th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Clark Blestowe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Perilya's supporters rose to their feet, but Clark Blestowe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Russ Ross breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 45th minute, Clark Blestowe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Best James to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute of the match Perilya got a corner. Bundaberg RUMblers's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Corey Starling ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Perilya's corner Corey Starling fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Russ Ross quite easily take care of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Clark Blestowe in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Russ Ross saved Bundaberg RUMblers from getting behind. Brandon Brennan was extremely unlucky when he, in the 60th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Brandon Brennan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Arnie Alcock made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Bundaberg RUMblers's Jake Smoothy got a free kick in the 64th minute. Brandon Brennan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Arnie Alcock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Rodney Porteus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Corey Starling was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 92nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After having played for 94 minutes, Best James managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Perilya's supporters crossed their fingers, but Best James was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bundaberg RUMblers's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
