Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brett Venz in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Birrell Mckay prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Birrell Mckay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brett Venz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Birrell Mckay stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Brett Venz's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. The supporters of Rubiton F.C booed when Bulleen Zebras F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michael Boots didn't get a good kick on the ball. Birrell Mckay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brett Venz in the 25th minute of the match. After having played for 30 minutes, Brett Venz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rubiton F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brett Venz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aden Mcinnes might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Birrell Mckay. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aden Mcinnes ran back to his position shaking his head. When Rubiton F.C's Brett Venz in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bulleen Zebras F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. In the 34th minute, Michael Boots hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 36 minutes of play, Rubiton F.C's Brett Venz made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Birrell Mckay was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 41 minutes, Reese Weeks mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bulleen Zebras F.C. and the Rubiton F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Bulleen Zebras F.C. getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Reese Weeks hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 46 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Brett Venz sped through Bulleen Zebras F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Birrell Mckay. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Bulleen Zebras F.C.'s Birrell Mckay proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Bulleen Zebras F.C. from getting a goal against them. In the 57th minute, Brandes Mcquoid ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Birrell Mckay was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Bryson Delbridge kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Bulleen Zebras F.C.'s Birrell Mckay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aden Mcinnes in the 67th minute of play. If Aden Mcinnes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brett Venz in the 95thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Birrell Mckay, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 96th minute Brett Venz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Birrell Mckay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match was over Rubiton F.C could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Bulleen Zebras F.C. throughout the match.
