An unexpectedly hard shot by Jake Smoothy in the 25th minute of play forced Minhamite's goalkeeper Keefe Merz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jake Smoothy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A very good chance. 41 minutes into the match, Bundaberg RUMblers's goalkeeper Russ Ross had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Case Heberle. In the 43rd minute Brandon Brennan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keefe Merz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reese Weller took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Russ Ross. Bundaberg RUMblers's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Brandon Brennan scored 0-1 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Keefe Merz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Downing Hands hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Brandon Brennan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keefe Merz having to interfere. Brandon Brennan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Keefe Merz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jake Smoothy in the 77th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Bundaberg RUMblers's Keefe Merz threw himself towards the right post 82 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jake Smoothy, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Minhamite's Case Heberle in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bundaberg RUMblers's goalie prevented a goal. Russ Ross made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danny Natt in the 89th minute of play. The Bundaberg RUMblers supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bundaberg RUMblers would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
