Auckland FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ollie Sobezak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nathaniel Grigson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ollie Sobezak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nathaniel Grigson having to interfere. Edmundson Sibbold sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 27 minutes, Edmundson Sibbold managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kiras Krusaders's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundson Sibbold was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 31 minutes, Norm Shortus mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kiras Krusaders and the Auckland FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Auckland FC booed when Kiras Krusaders was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norm Shortus didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stewart Soekirno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nathaniel Grigson having to interfere. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stewart Soekirno stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gregg Berresford made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundson Sibbold in the 53rd minute of play. Gregg Berresford made an important save on a dangerous shot by Earnest Byrnes in the 54th minute. Kiras Krusaders's Nathaniel Grigson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stewart Soekirno in the 58th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ollie Sobezak in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. In the 68th minute, Earnest Byrnes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kiras Krusaders fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Kiras Krusaders eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
