Barry Schutt's late challenge caught a Pimpana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Barry Schutt helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Pimpana booed when Newrybar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barry Schutt didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 4th minute, Loud Mewburn left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pimpana fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Bray Caddick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Loud Mewburn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13thth minute of the game Loud Mewburn who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Newrybar's Bray Caddick was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Loud Mewburn in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bray Caddick prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barnett Stanton in the 25th minute of play forced Newrybar's goalkeeper Bray Caddick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Barnett Stanton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pimpana's supporters rose to their feet, but Barnett Stanton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bray Caddick breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Barnett Stanton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bray Caddick was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. In the 43rd minute Loud Mewburn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bray Caddick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Clarke Collins during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Loud Mewburn who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 64thth minute tested the skills of Bray Caddick when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Newrybar booed when Pimpana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Loud Mewburn didn't get a good kick on the ball.
