A very good chance. 21 minutes into the match, NSW Fighters's goal looked a bit too open when Doyle Thomas came free, but Jarrett Connolly reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Ellis Duggan fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored NSW Fighters's protests and gave Ellis Duggan a yellow card for diving instead. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for NSW Fighters! Jarrett Connolly had in the 68thth minute some difficulties stopping Roger Connell's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 68 minutes of play, The comeback kids's Roger Connell made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jarrett Connolly was left in no man's land by his defense there! Doyle Thomas struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Thanks to some nice moves Doyle Thomas could shoot a difficult shot in the 73rd minute, which Jarrett Connolly however easily saved by the left post. Jesse Glover stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Otto Jobson's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Doyle Thomas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The comeback kids's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
