Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Boyde Shearn ran back to his position shaking his head. If Boyde Shearn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jarrett Connolly showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reginald Jury in the 43rd minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Reginald Jury to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Moliagul's Jones Rose got a free kick in the 82nd minute. The supporters of Moliagul booed when NSW Fighters was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bradshaw Cridland didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Watts hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. In the 86th minute, Earl Howarth sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and NSW Fighters's Jarrett Connolly didn't even have to move. Jarrett Connolly took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reginald Jury, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jarrett Connolly showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boyde Shearn, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Boyde Shearn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Moliagul's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
