Ermington FC's Ben Mills quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Justin Toomey, made in the 3rd minute of the game. In the 5th minute, David Odd fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Earle Shirdon, passed just outside the right post. 8 minutes into the game, Edgar Staggard was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Toulkerrie's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ermington FC the free kick. A collision led to Toulkerrie getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Edgar Staggard hit a great ball. Ermington FC's Gregg Willis got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 1-0 became the score in the 11th minute when David Odd elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dani Tresise in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Angus Mcjunkins saved Ermington FC from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, David Odd put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Earle Shirdon. David Odd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Earle Shirdon having to interfere. A hard shot 23 in the game by David Odd from a close distance when the talented Earle Shirdon managed to make a qualified save. Toulkerrie's players were relieved. David Odd struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Earle Shirdon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ermington FC. Ben Mills kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. A collision led to Toulkerrie getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Long Leydin hit a great ball. David Odd's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Earle Shirdon firmly grabbed it by the left post. 36 minutes into the game, Jordon Kerville was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Toulkerrie's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ermington FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Toulkerrie's Jordon Kerville got a free kick in the 36th minute. The supporters of Ermington FC booed when Toulkerrie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Randolph Beckwith didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 47 played minutes, Ermington FC's Quincy Mcvicar shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Earle Shirdon came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ermington FC reached it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Earle Shirdon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Odd, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. 53 minutes into the match, Ermington FC's David Odd sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Earle Shirdon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Odd in the 57th minute of play forced Toulkerrie's goalkeeper Earle Shirdon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute, Clifford Wivell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If David Odd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ben Mills lost his temper 69 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. When the match had been going on for 70 minutes, Toulkerrie's Ian Didlick got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Angus Mcjunkins. A collision led to Ermington FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Barnett Rann hit a great ball. Gregg Willis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Earle Shirdon having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Corbett Paynter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Corbett Paynter scored 3-1 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Earle Shirdon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Gregg Willis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ermington FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
