Spectators: 7518 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1858, VIP seats: 160) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Edward Wharton made the kick off which started today's match. 6 minutes into the match, David Odd had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Russel Trevena. Eskdale's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that David Odd was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. David Odd recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Ermington FC's goalkeeper Angus Mcjunkins had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bud Mosley. 15 minutes into the match, Eskdale's goal looked a bit too open when David Odd came free, but Russel Trevena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute, David Odd left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ermington FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After a rather tough play, Eskdale's Edwards Quelch got a free kick in the 20th minute. With an all-out effort, Eskdale's Angus Mcjunkins threw himself towards the right post 23 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edward Wharton, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 24th minute, Edwards Quelch reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Angus Mcjunkins. The goal made the score 1-2. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 27th minute of the game. One of Eskdale:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ermington FC:s goal. Ermington FC's David Odd got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Biggs Flesfadar during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 33rd minute of the game. One of Eskdale:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ermington FC:s goal. Darryl Brotherton shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. 37 minutes into the match, Eskdale's goal looked a bit too open when David Odd came free, but Russel Trevena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Darryl Brotherton struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Russel Trevena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ermington FC. In a very dangerous position, a player in Eskdale fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 43rd minute. Penalty! After a defensive mix-up in Eskdale's zone, David Odd stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Russel Trevena came out of the goal and David Odd tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Eskdale players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ermington FC were winning 1-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and David Odd made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Eskdale's goalkeeper Russel Trevena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by David Odd. Gregg Willis might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Russel Trevena. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gregg Willis ran back to his position shaking his head. David Odd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Corbett Paynter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Russel Trevena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. David Odd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gregg Willis got free with Russel Trevena in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If David Odd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Ermington FC booed when Eskdale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bud Mosley didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 86th minute, David Odd left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ermington FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-6. Russel Trevena was out of position in the 89 minute of play, and David Odd capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. David Odd really showed his touch with that goal: 1-7. If Gregg Willis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Odd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Russel Trevena having to interfere. Ermington FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
