In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind North Melbourne's goalkeeper Logan Millar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Logan Millar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brayden Pukallus, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. North Melbourne's Aden Lambourne got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
