Spectators: 7502 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1843, VIP seats: 159) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Edward Wharton took the kick off in the first half of the match. Russel Trevena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Larkin Kuskop, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. A collision led to Eskdale getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Edwards Quelch hit a great ball. Brendon Beckwith, 10 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Jason Stebbing recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Russel Trevena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Larkin Kuskop in the 15th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Gold Coast United's Larkin Kuskop sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Russel Trevena narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hale Mcgirr charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hale Mcgirr the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Hale Mcgirr hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Marshall Beattie made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Bud Mosley sent off a good shot on target. Bern Block charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bern Block the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Edward Wharton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jason Stebbing in the 32nd minute of play forced Eskdale's goalkeeper Russel Trevena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bud Mosley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marshall Beattie having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Larkin Kuskop in the 44th minute of play forced Eskdale's goalkeeper Russel Trevena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Larkin Kuskop struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Russel Trevena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gold Coast United. Bern Block got his second yellow card in the match during the 48th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 49th match minute, Gold Coast United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bern Block to maneuver through the defense. Conner Thorne was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 50th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal.

After a defensive mix-up in Gold Coast United's zone, Edward Wharton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marshall Beattie came out of the goal and Edward Wharton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bud Mosley blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marshall Beattie having to make a save. If Edward Wharton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edward Wharton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Marshall Beattie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Jason Stebbing could shoot a difficult shot in the 76th minute, which Russel Trevena however easily saved by the left post. In the 77th minute, Edwards Quelch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Edward Wharton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marshall Beattie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bud Mosley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bud Mosley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Eskdale's Russel Trevena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Eskdale from getting a goal against them. For all the effort they put into the match, the Gold Coast United players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Eskdale.
