Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Larkin Kuskop started the match with the kick off. If Clifford Pound had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Gwin charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed David Gwin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. David Gwin kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Clark Goodbun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jason Stebbing in the 17th minute of the match. After 32 played minutes Brombin got a freekick which was hit by Cliff Baxter. Gold Coast United's Marshall Beattie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jayden Bailey in the 35th minute of play. Clifford Pound succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 40th playminute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jayden Bailey in the 46th minute of play forced Gold Coast United's goalkeeper Marshall Beattie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jayden Bailey to make the kick off. Clifford Pound sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jayden Bailey struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Marshall Beattie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brombin. Jason Stebbing could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Clark Goodbun made a huge save. After having played for 59 minutes, Larkin Kuskop managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gold Coast United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Larkin Kuskop was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marshall Beattie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clifford Pound in the 65th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Larkin Kuskop kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Clark Goodbun. That made the score 1-1 in the 68 minute of play. Larkin Kuskop fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clark Goodbun having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jayden Bailey in the 77th minute of play forced Gold Coast United's goalkeeper Marshall Beattie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute, Gold Coast United's Jason Stebbing ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Clark Goodbun. Clark Goodbun yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Jason Stebbing recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 94 minutes into the match, Brombin's Clifford Pound sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marshall Beattie narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gold Coast United's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
