Dante Nunn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dalwood Wege in the 46th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. James Sinden was the one to do the kick off. After 52 minutes, Berne Crapp mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Welford and the Chute players grew even worse after the yellow card. Chute's supporters rose to their feet, but James Paull was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Quincy Price breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. James Sinden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Nunn having to interfere. Dante Nunn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from James Sinden in the 64th minute of play. After having played for 65 minutes, Dalwood Wege managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Welford's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dalwood Wege was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Welford's goalkeeper Quincy Price, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 75th minute of the game. One of Welford:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Chute:s goal. The supporters of Chute booed when Welford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bartholemew Goodward didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Welford's goal looked a bit too open when James Paull came free, but Quincy Price reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Welford would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
