After having played for 3 minutes, Birrell Burmeister managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. True Balance FB's supporters crossed their fingers, but Birrell Burmeister was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tommy Merz hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Brye Cubitt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Birrell Burmeister, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. If Martin Shipman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Martin Shipman in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brye Cubitt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Birrell Burmeister had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, True Balance FB's Dale Lorenz got control of the ball when Eden Ayrton tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Darell Castner fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored True Balance FB's protests and gave Darell Castner a yellow card for diving instead. Darell Castner kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Baxter Mosley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Dale Lorenz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 29 minutes in the game, Eden Ayrton fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Dale Lorenz having to interfere. After 30 minutes, Nathaniel Soekirno mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gold Coast City FC and the True Balance FB players grew even worse after the yellow card. Birrell Burmeister sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Martin Shipman took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Brye Cubitt. Brye Cubitt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Birrell Burmeister in the 39th minute of play forced Gold Coast City FC's goalkeeper Brye Cubitt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 40 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for True Balance FB! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Birrell Burmeister in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brye Cubitt saved Gold Coast City FC from getting behind. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Baxter Mosley to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, True Balance FB's Martin Shipman dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. In the 59th minute, Martin Shipman reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Brye Cubitt. The goal made the score 1-4. 62 minutes into the match, Gold Coast City FC's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Shipman came free, but Brye Cubitt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nathaniel Soekirno hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Birrell Burmeister got free with Brye Cubitt in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martin Shipman in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brye Cubitt saved Gold Coast City FC from getting behind. In the 67th minute Baxter Mosley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dale Lorenz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Al Gannan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Brye Cubitt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martin Shipman did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-5 to the left of a surprised Brye Cubitt 72 minutes into the match. In the 77th match minute, True Balance FB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nelson Hitchen to maneuver through the defense. Baxter Mosley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dale Lorenz having to interfere. After 81 minutes, Al Gannan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the True Balance FB and the Gold Coast City FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, True Balance FB's Al Gannan got a free kick in the 81st minute. Birrell Burmeister fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brye Cubitt having to interfere. Gold Coast City FC's Brye Cubitt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Shipman in the 91st minute of play. After 94 played minutes Gold Coast City FC got a freekick which was hit by Nathaniel Soekirno. Adolfo Travers, 95 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal.
