Spectators: 8019 (Terracing: 6016, Seating: 1844, VIP seats: 159) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Barry Holdsworth started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Joachim Wiking TSS's Jason Rummens got a free kick in the 4th minute. In the 11th minute Barry Holdsworth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brye Cubitt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barry Holdsworth recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eliot Russell charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eliot Russell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gold Coast City FC's Baxter Mosley got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 30 minutes, Baxter Mosley made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Joachim Wiking TSS's Alford Kuskop tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Barry Holdsworth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Brye Cubitt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eden Ayrton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alford Kuskop showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baxter Mosley in the 45th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Baxter Mosley was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Joachim Wiking TSS booed when Gold Coast City FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kenneth Alcock didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th minute, Barry Holdsworth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd minute, Baxter Mosley got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Joachim Wiking TSS's Antonio Norman got a free kick in the 75th minute. Alford Kuskop was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Edgar Coldicutt. Alford Kuskop had great luck who in the 77thth minute grab hold of the ball when Baxter Mosley from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jason Rummens during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alford Kuskop stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Baxter Mosley's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. The supporters of Gold Coast City FC booed when Joachim Wiking TSS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aden Sanderson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Gold Coast City FC's Edgar Coldicutt tried to score from far away in the 86th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. A collision led to Gold Coast City FC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Kenneth Alcock hit a great ball. In the 93rdth minute of the game Benney Lonergan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gold Coast City FC's Brye Cubitt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Joachim Wiking TSS supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Gold Coast City FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Gold Coast City FC.
