Spectators: 7965 (Terracing: 5975, Seating: 1832, VIP seats: 158) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Barry Holdsworth kicked off to start the match. Cod Stafford charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cod Stafford the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 7 played minutes MXW UNITED got a freekick which was hit by Cod Stafford. After having played for 9 minutes, Andrew Burton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MXW UNITED's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andrew Burton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Andrew Burton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Biddle Barling could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Alford Kuskop made a huge save. After 29 played minutes MXW UNITED got a freekick which was hit by Biddle Barling. When Joachim Wiking TSS's Barry Holdsworth in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye MXW UNITED's goalie prevented a goal. 32 minutes into the game, Jeffers Markwell was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Joachim Wiking TSS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MXW UNITED the free kick. Peter Miels sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Downing Barry made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barry Holdsworth in the 39th minute of play. A collision led to MXW UNITED getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Biddle Barling hit a great ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andrew Burton to make the kick off. Joachim Wiking TSS's Alford Kuskop played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter Miels in the 51st minute of play. Alford Kuskop came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by MXW UNITED's Peter Miels. But to his dismay, Peter Miels quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Benney Lonergan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Joachim Wiking TSS's supporters rose to their feet, but Benney Lonergan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Downing Barry breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Downing Barry was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Barry Holdsworth showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 60 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in MXW UNITED's zone, Benney Lonergan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Downing Barry came out of the goal and Benney Lonergan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 71 minutes into the match, MXW UNITED's goalkeeper Downing Barry had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benney Lonergan. In the 74th minute Barry Holdsworth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Downing Barry saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benney Lonergan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Downing Barry tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benney Lonergan was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 78th minute. Joachim Wiking TSS's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. MXW UNITED's defense didn't have a chance, in the 81st minute, when Barry Holdsworth scored to the left of an out of position Downing Barry, making the score, 1-2. When Barry Holdsworth came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Joachim Wiking TSS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Barry Holdsworth couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Benney Lonergan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Joachim Wiking TSS's supporters rose to their feet, but Benney Lonergan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Downing Barry breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Joachim Wiking TSS booed when MXW UNITED was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Biddle Barling didn't get a good kick on the ball. The MXW UNITED fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Joachim Wiking TSS were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
