In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Excelsior FC's goalkeeper Jacob Ceney, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in HITIT FOOTBALL CLUB's zone, Nick Turnor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jarrett Prior came out of the goal and Nick Turnor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Nick Turnor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Excelsior FC's Jacob Ceney proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Excelsior FC from getting a goal against them. The supporters of HITIT FOOTBALL CLUB booed when Excelsior FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humphrey Slattery didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nick Turnor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Danny Beattie hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. In the 31st match minute, HITIT FOOTBALL CLUB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edward Mcvey to maneuver through the defense. If Porter Mills had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, HITIT FOOTBALL CLUB's Abe Brotherton got a free kick in the 34th minute. Edward Mcvey hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Excelsior FC's Nick Turnor got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 38 minutes into the match, HITIT FOOTBALL CLUB's goal looked a bit too open when Nick Turnor came free, but Jarrett Prior reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind HITIT FOOTBALL CLUB's goalkeeper Jarrett Prior, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Nick Turnor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nick Turnor was the one to do the kick off. Excelsior FC's Jacob Ceney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ed Playford in the 66th minute of play. Ed Playford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacob Ceney having to interfere. Angus Blattman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Angus Blattman in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacob Ceney saved Excelsior FC from getting behind. Porter Mills received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Jarrett Prior tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, HITIT FOOTBALL CLUB's Jarrett Prior got control of the ball when Porter Mills tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angus Blattman in the 91st minute of play forced Excelsior FC's goalkeeper Jacob Ceney to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Excelsior FC's Jacob Ceney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ed Playford in the 92nd minute of play. HITIT FOOTBALL CLUB succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Excelsior FC had controlled the match.
