Navin Rosenboom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Larry Beer having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Burt Inwood's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Larry Beer was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. When Keefe Tencer fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cawdor's protests and gave Keefe Tencer a yellow card for diving instead. After 16 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cawdor! The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Burt Inwood was the one to do the kick off. Burt Inwood blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Larry Beer having to make a save.
