Spectators: 6750 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1600, VIP seats: 150) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Nick Turnor kicked off to start the match. After having played for 3 minutes, Dean Macinnes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Queenstown's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dean Macinnes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 4th match minute, Excelsior FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jordon Gillingwater to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Excelsior FC booed when Queenstown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bleyd Butterworth didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 12 minutes, Nick Turnor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Excelsior FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nick Turnor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eden Slattery showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Dean Macinnes came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Queenstown fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dean Macinnes couldn't finish the play. In the 31st minute, Dean Macinnes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 31 played minutes Excelsior FC got a freekick which was hit by Humphrey Slattery. After a defensive mix-up in Excelsior FC's zone, Lowrey Cawthorne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacob Ceney came out of the goal and Lowrey Cawthorne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dean Macinnes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Nick Turnor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 40 minutes into the game, one of Queenstown:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dean Macinnes in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacob Ceney saved Excelsior FC from getting behind. After having played for 57 minutes, Dean Macinnes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Porter Mills managed to get in a good position for a shot. Excelsior FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Porter Mills was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eden Slattery breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nick Turnor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Eden Slattery tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eden Slattery made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Porter Mills in the 83rd minute of play. Crawford Sawbridge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacob Ceney having to interfere.
