Antonia Shearn's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jarrett Prior read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. After a rather tough play, HITIT FOOTBALL CLUB's Danny Beattie got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 35th minute, Edward Mcvey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Sunshine Coast FC booed when HITIT FOOTBALL CLUB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abe Brotherton didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 48th minute Bent Beale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarrett Prior saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ed Playford to strike the kick off in the second half. When Edward Mcvey fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored HITIT FOOTBALL CLUB's protests and gave Edward Mcvey a yellow card for diving instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Danny Beattie managed to get in a good position for a shot. HITIT FOOTBALL CLUB's supporters rose to their feet, but Danny Beattie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gregg Pearson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The HITIT FOOTBALL CLUB fans cheered their team off the field, for while Sunshine Coast FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
