Sunshine Coast FC's Gregg Pearson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henry Howarth in the 4th minute of play. Gregg Pearson came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by C. Zvezda's Berne Pinhey. But to his dismay, Berne Pinhey quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, Sunshine Coast FC's Bob Yard got a free kick in the 9th minute. In the 13th minute, Henry Howarth left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C. Zvezda fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 19 minutes into the match, C. Zvezda's goalkeeper Jonty Freel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bent Beale. Antonia Shearn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonty Freel having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Sunshine Coast FC's Bent Beale got a free kick in the 27th minute. If Henry Howarth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Berne Pinhey in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gregg Pearson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 43 minutes, Berne Pinhey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C. Zvezda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Berne Pinhey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fletcher Terris kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Henry Howarth's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gregg Pearson was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Antonia Shearn was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Berne Pinhey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 54 played minutes Sunshine Coast FC got a freekick which was hit by Bruce Glover. Henry Howarth struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Gregg Pearson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C. Zvezda. Henry Howarth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gregg Pearson having to interfere. In the 61st minute, C. Zvezda's Henry Howarth ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gregg Pearson. Gregg Pearson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in Sunshine Coast FC's zone, Berne Pinhey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gregg Pearson came out of the goal and Berne Pinhey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 75th minute Henry Howarth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregg Pearson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Berne Pinhey got free with Gregg Pearson in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jonty Freel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bent Beale, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Jonty Freel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonia Shearn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 91 minutes into the match, Sunshine Coast FC's goal looked a bit too open when Henry Howarth came free, but Gregg Pearson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gregg Pearson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paz Awage, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. A collision led to C. Zvezda getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Cregan Adamson hit a great ball. When the match was over C. Zvezda could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sunshine Coast FC throughout the match.
