It was beautiful to see Rowville's Christian Rutledge in action when he in the 23rd minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! In the 32nd minute Abbott Huff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Corey Maddern saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benjamin Munster could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Corey Maddern made a huge save. Eddy Couzens was shown his second yellow card after 35 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match.
